JORDAN Caine will make a belated debut for Technogroup Welshpool at Port Talbot Town this weekend (Saturday, 2.30pm).
The teenage striker returned to the Lilywhites this week, despite calling time on his season loan just a week after agreeing to a temporary move from parent club Wrexham in January.
With Mark Stewart and Mike Cronshaw unavailable for the weekend trek to the inform Steelmen, manager Huw Griffiths is delighted the young targetman has completed a swift return.
“There were a few problems when Jordan originally arrived from Wrexham, but these are all now resolved and the lad cannot wait to launch himself in the Welsh Premier,” said Griffiths.
Griffiths is also warning of the dangers posed by a Port Talbot side, which recorded an historic 7-0 victory over Elements Cefn Druids in midweek.
“That result underlines just how capable Port Talbot are,” said Griffiths. “They attack from all over the pitch, have top players in every department and to be perfectly honest they are still the best team I have seen this season.”
However Griffiths insisted defeat at the Genquip Stadium is far from a forgone conclusion, following the Lilywhites’ recent revival which has seen them stop the rot with two draws.
“All the problems the club has encountered this season in terms of budget cuts and failing to apply for a licence has actually helped the players bond and there is a superb dressing room atmosphere.
“These lads know that virtually every week they are playing against better paid players, but I think they enjoy the challenge.
“Personally I am still enjoying every second of pitting my wits against managers with vastly superior budgets.”
Defender John Boardman will return for the Lilywhites to provide a welcome boost, after Geraint Windsor was ruled out for the season.
