FORMER Caersws midfielder Aeron Ed-wards will line up for TNS again-st his old side for the first time on Friday night, at Park Hall (7.30pm).

Fresh from his performance for the Wales amateur side in a 2-2 draw against Northern Ireland, Edwards says TNS will be looking for a win against the league’s bottom side, as they aim to keep up the pressure on Rhyl and Llanelli.

He said: “We have been playing really well to be honest, we are not conceding and we are scoring a few goals. We beat Rhyl 4-0 and Llanelli 2-0 and we’re keeping clean sheets and scoring goals.

“I think we have found a good formation with our team and we’re looking solid at the moment.”

Edwards says he is looking forward to seeing a few old faces as Caersws visit Park Hall.

He said: “It will be good, I’m looking forward to it, it will be nice to see everyone and I still speak to the assistant manager Dave Taylor quite often.”

TNS assistant manager Mike Davies says they won’t be taking Caersws for granted as they seek to keep their momentum going, in their chase for the league title.

He said:“There’s no such thing as an easy game in this league so the lads will approach it professionally and give Caersws the respect they deserve.

“We won’t take it for granted. We need to play well otherwise they are capable of getting a result.”

He added: “There’s no real pressure on them. They are a decent side and they have got some good players. They’ve picked up a few points of late and they were unlucky with last weekend’s game being abandoned and they will be reasonably confident from that.

“We will just continue to try and pass the ball and move it quickly like we always do.”

Davies will be running the rule over Aeron Edwards and fellow Wales semi-pro, Craig Jones, on their return from Northern Ireland, before deciding whether they will play.

Caersws manager Mickey Evans said his players will have to be at their best to get a result.

He said: “We have just got to go there and play our best. They are very much a team in form, they had a great result against Llanelli and a comprehensive win against Rhyl. They have beaten all the other title contenders so their confidence will be sky high.

“Nothing less than our best will be anywhere good enough, and we can just hope that they have an off day which is always possible.”
