ELLIOT LEE praised the way his team-mates handled the pressure and won games when it mattered most to clinch a second promotion in a row.

Wrexham thrashed Forest Green Rovers 6-0 a fortnight ago to secure a top-three finish in League Two with two games to spare and the Reds complete another remarkable season against champions Stockport County at The Racecourse tomorrow.

A number of teams were battling it out to go straight up to League One and Lee believes being clinching the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign, when Wrexham were pushed all the way by Notts County, stood the players in good stead.

The Reds stepped up to the plate once again and Lee, brought in from Luton Town in the summer of 2022, savoured the success knowing it is something that he and his team-mates worked hard for.

"Credit to the owners, the manager and all the staff around him because they bring in great characters, they bring in hard-working, honest lads who are very talented," said the playmaker,  who has scored 16 goals this term.

"I have said it before, it is the best changing room I have ever been in and we have shown we can handle moments like we did against Forest Green, and handle run-ins, especially after last year.

"We all felt strong going into the last few games where the pressure is high but we dealt with it last year.

"Because we had that experience last season, it really helped us this year.

"I can't speak highly enough of the group. It is a pleasure to come in and work every day.

"These are the moments you want to savour and enjoy with everyone after the highs and lows throughout the season, it is a special feeling."
