CARL FORSTER is delighted with the way the League One season has opened for the North Wales Crusaders.

The Crusaders have won their opening two matches of the season ahead of Sunday’s home meeting with Newcastle Thunder.

Reflecting on the opening victories versus Cornwall and Midlands Hurricanes, Cru player-coach Forster (pictured above) told CruCast: “I’d have taken your hand off if you’d offered us that (two wins out of two) at the start of the season.

“So, we’re two from two and hopefully make it three from three this weekend.”

Newcastle are still seeking a first win of the season, but they were ahead against Workington Town at the interval during a 48-18 loss last weekend.

Forster added: “They are getting better week in, week out and, at the end of the day, they’re a very inexperienced team.

“So, the more they play together, the more they get games under their belt, the better they’ll be.

“Our preparation will be exactly the same as it has been the last two weeks.”

Crusaders will go into the contest following a hard-fought 20-14 triumph at home to Midlands Hurricanes in their first home league match of the campaign.
