THERE was plenty of drama as the Wirral hosted the final round of the Borders Road Running League.

It has been a remarkable season for Buckley, with overall victories secured in three of the four divisions entered.

The men have won the Division One title and both the men’s and women’s veterans won their divisions too.

Individually, the team have also claimed six individual titles and three podium places.

Jen Rambaldi took the FV35 category, with Eleanor Francis in second. Chris Callaghan won the MV45 division, Simon Roberts was first MV50, with Jez Brown second.

Class victories also went to Eddie Davies (MV55), Eric Campbell (MV60) and Margaret Ludden (FV60), with Irene Blount the third FV65.

On the day, the women’s team swept the board with victory in Division One and in the veterans category, which resulted in the women veterans leapfrogging West Cheshire AC and taking the title.

The men’s team were fourth and the veteran men’s team fifth on the day, but that was enough to seal both titles.
