DEESIDE DRAGONS have not only been seeing Stars... they have beaten them!
The dynamic Dragons stunned Division One North Ice Hockey League leaders Billingham Stars with a magnificent 7-4 success in their own backyard.
Just a few weeks after providing a largely positive display in a 5-2 home loss versus the front-runners, Deeside claimed a worthy victory on this occasion with goals from Alex Parry (pictured above), Matt Wainwright (2), Ross Kennedy (2), Jakub Hájek and Petr Valusiak.
Dragons were anticipating making the trip with a near-full strength line-up, but assistant head coach Matt Compton admitted: “We actually lost a few lads and we went in a little bit short.
“But it just shows what strength we have got in the squad.
“We were missing five players in the end, I think.”
The match marked a return to action for Jared Dickinson after two months off the ice and he was named as the Dragons’ MVP.
Dragons have four matches of their regular season remaining.
