AIDEN ANGILLETTA has enjoyed a terrific season in track-and-field events.

On the British scene, Deeside AAC members have been catching the eye, with Angilletta making his mark over the course of the season.

In his U15 boys’ category, Angilletta won two British titles - in the triple jump (12.42m) and 60m hurdles (8.42). Both of these were Welsh records and the hurdles record had stood for 12 years.

Angilletta, who is now British number one in his age group for the two disciplines, also won four Welsh titles, in 60m hurdles, long jump, triple jump and high jump, while he took bronze in the shot.

Lucca Tardivel set personal bests in the 60m and 200m in the British Championships, making the semi-finals in both events. He won the Welsh title for the 60m and picked up silver in the long jump, plus bronze in the shot put.

Also at the Welsh championships, Gill Fook took silver in high jump and set a new personal best of 26.54 in the 60m.

Over in the U17 women’s class and it’s been some season for Olivia Scrimshaw.

A new Welsh record of 12.53m saw her claim the British triple jump title, while she is also the British long jump champion.

Competing against senior ladies in the Welsh championships, she won silver in the triple jump and set a new personal best in the 60m.

Scrimshaw is the UK number one for both triple and long jump in her age group.
