NORTH WALES CRUSADERS’ head coach Carl Forster has told his players not to focus on the scoreboard during Sunday’s Challenge Cup tie at Bradford Bulls.

This will be the second time already this season Crusaders will come up against Championship opposition and, for Forster, it’s all about preparing for the start of the league season next month.

Ahead of the trip to Odsal Stadium, Forster said: “Our focus is on League One.

“We will use it as part of pre-season and give a good account of ourselves.

“We have set ourselves targets of competing with them.

“I have told the lads, don’t focus on the scoreboard.

“We have got to look at the bigger picture.

“It’s about looking ahead.

“Solely on what we can do to be better from the Swinton and Barrow games.”

Crusaders’ sole pre-season contest came with a trip to Barrow, while they were competitive in a 40-12 loss to Swinton Lions in the 1895 Cup.

Pat Ah Van and Ben Evans grabbed the Crusaders’ tries.
