Moors draw welcomed by Wrexham FC boss

Andy Morrell has welcomed another home draw in the FA Trophy.

Wrexham’s reward for beating Rushall Olympic 5-0 on Saturday is a second round tie against Conference North side Solihull Moors at The Racecourse on Saturday December 15.

“I am just pleased to be at home again,” said player-boss Morrell. “We will take anybody at home and that is fine.

“You have got to do the business though against these teams. We found out against Hinckley last season and at times on Saturday, it is not easy against these teams from a lower league.

“We will have to prepare like we always do and give it a good go.

“We have got a couple of really important games before that so we will put that to the back of our minds and get on with the job in hand.”

Elsewhere, Luton Town, who face Dorchester Town in both The FA Trophy and The FA Cup in the next four days, will travel to Mansfield Town or Matlock Town in the former if they get through down in Dorset tonight.

The 16 winners will each receive £6,000 from The FA’s prize fund.

Other ties: Dartford v Merthyr Town or Tonbridge Angels; Stockport County v Southport; Maidenhead United or Sutton United v Oxford City or Bishop’s Stortford; King’s Lynn Town v AFC Telford United; Bromley or Boreham Wood v Kidderminster Harriers; Forest Green Rovers v Gainsborough Trinity; Tamworth v Corby Town; Cambridge United v Gateshead; Woking v Welling United; Chesham United v Hyde or Barrow; FC Halifax Town v Maidstone United; Hereford United v Hampton & Richmond Borough or Chelmsford City; Grimsby Town or Buxton v Braintree Town or Havant & Waterlooville; Boston United or Skelmersdale United v Guiseley.
