Michaels are set to leave Chester FC

MICHAEL POWELL and Michael Taylor may have made their last appearances for Chester.

Blues boss Neil Young revealed that Powell, currently suspended after his dismissal in Chester’s FA Cup replay defeat at FC Halifax Town, and experienced centre back, Taylor, have attracted interest from other clubs.

“There have been a couple of clubs that have shown an interest in Michael Powell,” Young said.

“Michael is suspended at the moment and there is no real need to push that. We have had a couple of offers for him on loan which I have knocked back at the moment because that won’t contribute as much as I would require.

“I am now just waiting for the clubs to come back with another figure, but Michael is keen to play football and he doesn’t want to sit around here.

“He is on contract and likewise he is not going to walk away, but he knows the situa-tion here and he’s a good lad.

“We just need to make sure the financial offer is right for him and right for the football club.”

Young also revealed that AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor is keen to sign Taylor in a permanent deal.

He added: “Michael was named as a substitute for us on Saturday, but I am going to speak to AFC Fylde to discuss the possible permanent transfer.

“I’m not sure whether that will happen before tomorrow because I might want to keep him on board ahead of the match at Vauxhall.

“I think Michael has got a good offer on the table, but I think it could he an additional year so I don’t want to mess that up for him by him getting injured like he did at Chorley recently.

“If Michael does leave then I’d like to say he has been a fantastic servant for Chester and he will leave with my best wishes.”
