The 'right attitude' will be central to Buckley Town progressing in the Welsh Cup, according to manager Dan Moore.

The Flintshire club have confounded all expectations since returning to the Cymru Alliance this season, climbing to third on the back of a six-game unbeaten streak.

And as Moore's side prepare to host their former Welsh National League rivals Brymbo tomorrow, he insists there is no room for complacency.

He said: "First of all we're glad it's a home game because that's definite advantage in any cup tie.

"Overall we're happy at how things have gone so far this season overall and a good cup run can bring much needed revenue to clubs at this level.

"But we get too far ahead of ourselves we need to ensure we have the right attitude for the game.

"It wasn't long ago we were playing Brymbo in the league and I don't expect there to be a huge difference in terms of the quality we've got in our squads.

"We've done as much homework on them as is feasible at this level and we've watched them play.

"They're flying in their league right now and full of confidence, so the priority for us is ensuring our attitude and game plan are right - that's vital.

"The cup isn't a distraction at all. It's a opportunity for us to build on the form we've shown in the league and get as far as we possibly can in a famous old competition."

Town have a full-strength squad available for the clash.

Steve Halliwell believes his Gresford Athletic side are heading into the 'tie of the round' at home to Brickfield Rangers tomorrow.

After a patchy start to the Cymru Alliance season, the Colliers look to be finding form after two successive league victories lifted them to seventh in the table.

Halliwell is excited by that the 'spectacle' of a local derby with the potential for a cup upset ans insists his side will not be underestimating their unbeaten Welsh National League opponents.

He said: "It's going to be a big game locally and hopefully a great spectacle for the fans who come along.

"There should be a lot of local interest in the game and hopefully they'll see a decent game.

"We're probably approaching the competition with a similar outlook this season.

"They'll be looking to turn over a side from the league above, while we're hoping to progress and test ourselves against a Welsh Premier side.

"Things have picked up for us in the league over the last couple of weeks and we're confident we can beat them.

"But there's no complacency in there at all, we'll need to be completely switched on to get ourselves through against a very decent Brickfield side."

Halliwell will need to alter his defensive line-up, with on-loan full-back Ben Burrows cup-tied and centre half Jack Jones suspended for the clash.

Holywell Town boss John Haseldin believes a positive cup run can help restore the feelgood factor at the club.

The Wellmen have laboured in their league campaign after six defeats from 10 games so far, with Haseldin returning as manager a fortnight ago to help stabilise the club.

And with a tricky away tie at in-form Caersws to navigate tomorrow, Haseldin is keen to progress in a competition he values deeply.

He said: “Reaching the semi-final in 2014 was the making of me and of this club in a way. It was certainly the highlight of my time in football as a manager.

“It’s a competition that means a lot to me and everyone at this club, and rightly so.

“We’ve had a tough start in the league but there were some positive signs in the Rhyl game despite the result.

“It’s not all doom and gloom - we’re out to improve again and hopefully a big performance in the cup can give us a bit of a lift and bring that feelgood factor back.

“Caersws will be tough. We’ve played there a few times before in the league and after the rain we’ve had it’s bound to be a heavy pitch down there.

“They were 13 games unbeaten before last weekend and will have plenty about them.

“But hopefully we can show enough quality on the day to get ourselves through.”

Midfielder Danny Desormeaux could miss the trip after sustaining a hand injury against Rhyl.

Niall McGuinness fears the pitch will be a factor in Flint Town United’s clash at Llanrhaeadr.

Flint return to action after a two-week fixture break, with the Silkmen set to include newly-signed midfielder Socrates Martins in their line-up.

Despite his side recording a 1-0 league victory against the Powys club last month, McGuinness is wary of the conditions awaiting his side in Llanrhaeadr.

He said: “Llanrhaeadr have switched the game to the pitch they played on last season, which I doubt will be in great condition.

“I’m guessing they think that it will be a bit of a leveller in a game like this and will disrupt our game more than theirs.

“We’re not going to let it affect us though. The break has done us good and all the lads are raring to get going again.

“Socrates will be in contention to start the game after training with us for the last six weeks or so.

“He’s really impressed us with his athleticism in centre midfield and we think he’ll be a real asset for us, particularly on the heavier pitches we play on in winter.”

Top scorer Mark Cadwallader is Flint’s only injury doubt for the cup clash.

Cymru Alliance pacesetters Airbus will not make wholesale changes to their line-up for the trip to struggling Penycae tomorrow.

The Wingmakers have been in devastating form this term with 10 successive victories putting them 12 points clear of their nearest title rivals.

And assistant boss Andy Thomas is keen to preserve his side’s winning mentality, with no ‘easing off’ in tomorrow’s cup clash with their Welsh National League hosts

He said: “We fully respect any opponent we come up against and that’s no different for an away game in the cup like this.

“Upsets happen in cup competitions every year and the result on Saturday will depend a lot on how we perform on the day.

“The winning run we’ve put together so far this season only makes other teams more determined to beat us and I’m sure that Penycae will be thinking that way.

“We know that, and we’ll be going to Penycae with a strong line-up and players coming back into contention.

“The confidence is there and the winning mentality we’ve built is something we want to stretch out for as long as possible.”

Defender Danny Taylor misses out for Airbus, though Kristian Platt and prolific forward Asa Hamilton are set to return.

Penycae are boosted by the return of Alex Peters, Josh Jones, Mike Parry and Austin Owen, while new signing Danny Mongan will also feature.

Boss Ian Andrews said: “Its a big game for the club and one the players are looking forward to, the challenge of playing a team from a higher division gives them a chance to see how they can perform.

“Airbus are flying at the moment and we are massive underdogs for the game, but we’ve put no pressure on the players, we have asked for 100 per cent and for them to give it their best shot.

“We just want the club and the players to enjoy the day and put on a good performance, if they come off the pitch after giving their all, then we will be happy.

“We’ve had some good results of late and the team is settled, the spirit is great so the players can go and enjoy it.”

Former Airbus boss, Craig Harrison, will be looking to avoid the biggest upset of the round as Mold Alex visit Bangor City.

Mold boss Mike Cunningham is expecting to have Henry Carver, Matty Roberts and Callum Lavelle available, although Aled Reece misses out.

New Brighton Villa, Rhostyllen and Corwen face tricky away ties against Prestatyn, Guilsfield and Holyhead Hotspur respectively.

Corwen head to Holyhead without Nathan Davies, Alex Webster and Dominic Doherty, but Elystan Hughes and Ryan Billington could feature.

Coedpoeth United have the chance to cause an upset as they entertain Ruthin Town, while Hawarden Rangers host Llanfair United.

Rangers boss Mark Evans is hoping to have Mark Weir, Nick Henderson and Ricky Wilson all available.

Two all-Cymru Alliance clashes see Conwy Borough host Rhyl, while Denbigh Town entertain Holyhead Town. Craig Papirnyk’s Porthmadog side visit Gwynedd rivals Pwllheli.
