Cheshire Phoenix bounced back from an opening night defeat with an impressive 91-83 home success over Worcester Wolves.

The Nix came from behind in the contest, as Ben Thomas’ side recovered from a slow start just as they did for much of last season to leave both teams 1-1 from their respective fixture double-headers.

Dii’jon Allen-Jordan led the way against the Wolves with 22 points, while Daniel Norl impressed off the bench to finish with 21 points to help inspire the victory.

Worcester were up eight points at the half, but the home side used a 26-15 third period to move ahead and never trailed again with 12 points in the fourth from Norl helping secure the win.

Cheshire found their success inside with a 69 per cent shooting rate and with 56 points coming from inside the paint.

The result followed a 70-65 reverse for the Nix at Newcastle Eagles on Friday evening.

The visitors matched the Eagles in an even opening quarter, which ended 20-18 to the hosts.

The Eagles stretched their advantage in the second period as Darius Defoe’s 14 point haul helped them to a 40-34 first half lead.

The Nix pushed hard to close the gap and did so successfully in the period as an 8-2 run inspired by Jordan Session's fine shooting tied the game at 56-all with six minutes to play.

But, fuelled by Rahmon Fletcher's fine individual display that yielded by 14 points and 10 assists, the Eagles opened up a five-point advantage and closed the remainder of the game out to seal a narrow win.
