RGC head coach Mark Jones has named a strong squad for their Principality Premiership clash at Pontypridd on Friday evening (7.10pm).

The Gogs will be looking to bounce back in front of the BBC Srcum V cameras in what is sure to be another huge test of their title credentials, with Jones able to call on some experienced figures that have bolstered their squad considerably.

Afon Bagshaw makes his first start of the season after being awarded a 7s contract by the Welsh Rugby Union, with Tom Hughes taking his place in a formidable back-line that also includes the in-form duo of Efan Jones and summer signing Billy McBryde.

Squad mainstay Evan Yardley will captain the side from the forwards, and there is plenty of power within the pack thanks to the presence of Joe Simpson, Robin Williams and former Wales U18 international Dan Owen.

The Gogs currently sit in sixth position in the standings following their first loss of the season against Ebbw Vale last weekend, and Ponty are also looking to get back to winning ways after they were beaten by Aberavon last time out.

RGC squad: Joe Simpson, Evan Yardley, Jordan Scott, Bryn Jones, Robin Williams, Andrew Williams, Dan Owen, Tim Grey, Efan Jones, Billy McBryde, Afon Bagshaw, Rhys Williams, Tom Hughes, Sam Jones, Dion Jones.

Replacements: George Roberts, Curtis Reynolds, Joel Ringer, Josh Leach, Ilan Rowlands, Cameron Davies, Bailey Rae, Danny Cross.
