NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have signalled their intentions for the 2019 League One season by confirming the signing of Rob Massam.

The Welsh international winger started his career with Crusaders, becoming the club's top try scorer before moving to Championship outfit Rochdale Hornets.

Massam will now return to The Queensway Stadium next season to work under Anthony Murray.

On the signing, Crusaders chief executive officer Andy Moulsdale said: “Rob is an outstanding player and many supporters will know him well from his previous spell at the club where he became our all time leading try scorer.

“He will now bring with him some added experience from playing in the Championship with Rochdale and he will be able to share that with some of the younger lads coming through.”

Massam becomes Murray’s first new recruit for the 2019 season and joins Karl Ashall, Gavin Conroy, Kenny Baker, Brad Brennan, Simon Atherton, Lee Hudson and Tommy Johnson in signing up.

Crusaders saw their three-match winning run ended yesterday as Doncaster claimed a 36-12 at the Queensway Stadium.
