LLANELWY Athletic extended their unbeaten opening to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One campaign with an emphatic 4-0 home win over title rivals Y Glannau.

The newly formed side are now seven games without a loss and are four points clear at the top of the early standings, with Liam Rowland-Jones getting the all-important opener after the break on 53 minutes.

This was swiftly followed by a second which came courtesy of Daniel Davies after 58, and the hosts all-but sealed the points a minute later when Frankie Henningan converted an opportunity immediately following the restart.

There was still time for the early pacesetters to inflict further misery on the visitors, with Daniel Price producing a composed finish on 85 minutes to complete the rout and take their tally to 44 goals in seven games.

Rhos United are hot on their heels in second position after securing a 7-3 win at Denbigh Development.

A hat-trick apiece from Tom Brady and Pemmy Alison did the majority of the damage, with Adam Jones netting the visitors’ first on eight minutes after they fell behind in the opening minute thanks to an Adam Jones finish.

Goals from Mathew Robinson, Ryan Anderson, Josh Evans and Liam Burgess were enough to give Rhuddlan Town Reserves a thrilling 4-3 victory at Penrhyn Bay Dragons, with Cameron Hales hitting a brace for Llanfairfechan Town Reserves in their 4-2 home win over Betws-y-Coed.
