LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has handed two academy players a chance to shine with the senior side this season.

Gifted young forward Aron Hughes and defender Joe Weir were added to the squad after the pair have impressed considerably for Tudno’s U19 side in recent months.

They become the latest in a series of youth team products to become involved with the first team after a complete re-structure of club’s academy since Williams took over at the helm last year.

He said: “We’re really glad that both Joe Weir and Aron Hughes have signed first team forms for this season.

“We have completely re-structured the Academy and the 19’s where we encourage most to sign first team forms to provide a pathway and Aron and Joe are two more examples of young, good players who have bought into the ethos we’re trying to create.

“Under the fantastic guidance of Mark Orme’s in the Under 19’s and the experience they can gain in and around the First Team squad then I’m sure they’re development will come on leaps and bounds."

Orme, added: "The main aim of the 19's is to get players in to the first team environment.

“Iwan has shown an interest in everything we have done throughout pre-season and this has shown with another two of the boys signing on today. I'm really pleased for Joe and Aron, it's well deserved."
