SAM RICKETTS has loan signings lined up but the Wrexham manager is waiting for clubs to make a decision on their players.

The former Wales international, who currently has 16 players in the ranks heading into the 2018-19 National League campaign, is looking to put the finishing touches to his squad with the addition of a few more new recruits.

Two could arrive at The Racecourse on loan and Ricketts is waiting for the go-ahead from his targets' parent clubs.

"There are things going on, I am just waiting for something to tick over," said Ricketts.

"We have not missed out on anybody, the players we are after have not gone anywhere else.

"There will be a couple of loans and possibly permanents as well.

"It is just a question of getting them done as and when. The loan market will be one which takes a little bit longer because clubs are reluctant to let them go too early because they might have a future at their club, let alone going out on loan.

"They are not quite sure what their plans are for them.

"We will keep knocking on the door and the closer we get to the beginning of the season, the closer all the clubs know where they are at and I am sure a couple will fall into place then."
