ANDY MORRISON believes the stage is set for his Connah’s Quay Nomads players to show their quality.

Shakhtyor Soligorsk visit Rhyl’s Belle Vue tonight in the Europa League first qualifying round with Morrison expecting a tough test for his team.

But the former Manchester City captain is confident his players will do the club and the Welsh Premier League proud against the Belarusian high-flyers.

“We’ve done incredible in-depth research on them,” said Morrison. “We know what they are about, we know they are very good. They are challenging BATE Borisov and Dinamo Minsk for the title in a really competitive league.

“It’s going to be a tough ask, but we have shown against Stabaek - a full-time Norwegian side - and Helsinki that we will find a way to stay in the game and we will find a way to cause them a problem or two.

“I honestly believe they are better than Helsinki and they are better than Stabaek, but we are looking forward to it.

“Lads need a stage to go and show their qualities and if you don’t get that stage in life you will never get an opportunity to exceed what you are doing at the present moment, and they’ve got that now.

“They’ve got a chance to go and do the Welsh Premier League proud and we will.”
