HAWARDEN PARK continue to chase the leading pack in the hunt for the Division One title after beating Kingsley Knights by 42 runs.

David Hughes maintained his fine form in the shortest format with an unbeaten 67 as Hawarden posted 166 for nine from their 20 overs.

Hawarden captain Mike Wootton then pocketed 5-20 to bowl Kingsley out for 124 in reply.

The win leaves Hawarden three points behind leaders Mold, who clinched an eight-wicket success over visiting Academicals.

Richard Deniz struck 49 not out as Mold struck 112 for two in reply to Academicals' 109 for six.

Second placed Tarporley (160-6) claimed a convincing 91-run success over Marchwiel and Wrexham Outlaws (69), while Red Lion (107-5) beat Llay Welfare (106) by five wickets.

Brymbo Brewers moved a step closer to promotion to the top-flight with a five-wicket Division Two success over West Cheshire Crossbatters. Joss Roberts struck 52 for Brymbo as they hit 154 for five after restricting Crossbatters to 153 for four.

Martin Huxley bagged 4-20 as Saughall (110-6) overcame Golden Eagle (109) by four wickets, while Cornerhouse (154-6) beat Mynydd Isa (152-8) by the same margin and Chester Lions (121-6) defeated HGWCC (108-5) by 13 runs.

Cross Keys blew the Division Three title race wide open after the defeated current leaders Gwersyllt Park by seven wickets.

Table topping Gwersyllt were bowled out for 169 with Cross Keys, who are three points adrift of the summit with a game in hand, replying with 173 for three.

West Kirby Wasps (184-5) are now just a point behind the leaders after beating Manor Athletic (138-7) by 46 runs, while Gresford claimed a walkover win after The Groves failed to raise a side.

Andy Bellis struck 53 and claimed 3-17, but it proved in vain as Halkyn (138-4) lost to West Cheshire College (154-7) by 16 runs.

There is a four-way tie at the top of Division Four after Northop Hall and Oakmere both won to join Abergele and Saightonians on eight points.

Hall (66-2) beat Saightonians (60-9) by eight wickets at the latter failed to secure outright control of the division, while Oakmere (120-1) beat Outlaws (116-5) by nine wickets.

Ed Rimmer struck a half century as Castle Square Cutters (169-5) beat Bromborough (129-4) by 40 runs to move to six points.

In Division Five, Oak Tree Outlaws held their nerve to record a five-run success at Kinnerton.

After posting 151 for three, Andrew Swarbrick bagged 3-10 to help restrict Kinnerton to 146 for five in reply, despite Ian Noonan's half century.

Shotton (151-4) proved too strong for Westminster Park (92) as they secured a 59-run away win, while leaders Bank of America (131-1) eased to a nine-wicket win over Dodleston (130-5) and Wirral (125-9) beat Frodsham (122-8) by three runs.

Buckley claimed victory in Division Six after Chester Taverners failed to raise a side.
