DANNY SPRAKE starred with a century as Mynydd Isa defeated Llangollen by 81 runs in Division Two.

The opener reached 100 before Llangollen were able to dismiss him, while Paul Kearney struck an unbeaten 74 as Isa posted a sizeable 287 for four from their 45 overs, Harry Paton and Richard Hughes with two wickets apiece.

Sprake then added 4-11 from three overs and Matty Blunden pocketed 2-29 as Isa bowled Llangollen out for 206, Hughes top scoring with 92.

David Baker also reached three figures as Gresford Seconds cruised to a 126-run success at Pontblyddyn Seconds in the Second XI Premier Division.

Baker struck 104 of Gresford's 290 for four, Robert Clark (66) and George Morris (46 not out) also in the runs as Harry Williams finished the pick of the Pont attack with 2-41.

Chris Myles (50) and Nick Thomas (31) got Pont's reply off to a promising start, before Gethin Thomas (66no) took over, but no other batsman scored more than two as the Flintshire slide were restricted to 164 for seven.

Alex Morton (4-21) and Jack Cooper (2-20) combined with the ball for Gresford, who are 16 points clear at the top of the table.

Andrew Oates outscored Mike Phennah as third placed Northop Seconds clinched a Llay Welfare Seconds.

Llay opener Phennah struck 121 as the Wrexham outfit posted 238 for six, Jack Parry (42) and Ethan Griffiths (37) also in the runs, despite Liam Moores' 3-42.

But Oates was the star of the show as he hit an unbeaten 126 to see Northop home with just under 10 overs to spare, Scott Oates (56) and James Roberts (35) also in the runs.

Brymbo Seconds closed the gap on Bangor Seconds as they beat the fourth placed outfit by 56 runs.

Contributions from Tom Emmerson (47), Ross Roberts (42), Anthony Savage (33no) and George Bourne (24) saw Brymbo post 188 for seven.

Brymbo's bowlers then chipped away to bowl Bangor out for 132, Wayne Smith (3-32), Terry Jones (2-17) and Roberts (2-18) the main men.

Carmel and District Seconds gave their survival chances a boost with a three-wicket home win over fellow strugglers Buckley Seconds.

Rocco Franco hit 78 not out as Buckley posted 166 for nine after winning the toss, Ben Sim (3-22) and and Rohit Kaimal (3-33) combining impressively for Carmel.

Carl Badger-Watts top scored for Carmel after the turnaround, the opener hitting a half century as the home side grabbed a victory that was helped by 33 extras.

Joseph Norman was the pick of the Buckley bowling attack with 3-39.

Second placed Menai Bridge Seconds (58-2) continued their title push with an eight-wicket win over visiting Denbigh Seconds (54).

Maeshafn Argoed continued their Second XI East Division title challenge with a 62-run success over Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds.

Graham Houghton (63), Stuart Applewhite (44) and Tom Hall (34) were in the runs as Maeshafn posted 215 for seven, Paul Baines taking two of the wickets to fall.

Hall then pocketed 4-23 with Rahul Patil bagging 2-34 as Marchwiel were restricted to 153 for six, Neal Wellens (60) and Paul Ankers (46no) giving their side a glimmer of hope.

Two of the chasing pack met as Gwersyllt Park Seconds climbed above Mold Seconds with a 38-run away win.

Craig Roberts bagged 5-32, but Gwersyllt posted 203, Stephen Conner hitting 47 with extras contributing 42.

Phil Huckridge (3-18), Harry Archer (3-27) and Jack Watkins (2-39) then combined for Gwersyllt to bowl Mold out for 165, Roberts hitting 45 at the top of the order.

Vishal Mony (38) and Anthony Green (3-18) were the pick for Halkyn Seconds (126) as they lost to Rhewl (128-7) by three wickets.

Castell Alun were also winners as Ruthin Seconds conceded their scheduled encounter.
