The influx of new faces at Flint Town United has continued, with the addition of experienced central midfielder Tom Dix.

The 27-year-old joins from Welsh Premier League side Llandudno, where he was captain for several seasons and won the Cymru Alliance title in the 2014/15 campaign.

Silkmen manager Niall McGuinness, who has already recruited four new players to his 2018/19 squad, hailed Dix's combative qualities in central areas.

Dix will also take on the vice captain role, after Richie Foulkes was announced as the new club captain last week.

McGuinness said: "Dixie’s a warrior and a winner on the pitch and he brings invaluable experience, as we continue to move forward, building a balanced squad for the league."

Flintshire rivals Airbus will welcome back left-sided midfielder Matty McGinn next term.

A year after hanging up his boots with a persistent shoulder in injury, the 34-year-old is now is back in training with the club.

After keeping himself fit with gym work and, with no adverse reaction from his injury, McGinn is primed and ready to go for the new season.

The experienced playmaker won three Conference North winners' medals with Southport, Chester FC and AFC Telford United after starting his career with Runcorn.

He scored 22 goals in 35 appearances to help earn the Blues the Conference North title during the 2012/13 campaign and was a major contributor as Telford gained automatic promotion a year later.

McGinn subsequently signed for Airbus in June 2014 and went on to make 64 Welsh Premier appearances, scoring 12 goals, also appearing twice in the Europa League.

The Wingmakers have also completed the signing of promising midfielder Brady McGilloway from league rivals Holywell Town.

A product of the Wrexham, Chester and Stoke City youth systems, McGilloway has impressed in his 29 Alliance appearances to date.
