Gresford Seconds were indebted to tailenders Harry Morris and Tomos Roberts as they made it 10 Second XI Premier Division victories on the bounce by beating Bangor Seconds by one wicket.

Having seen Bangor post 203 for eight from their 45 overs, Gresford were staring their first defeat of the season in the face when they slipped to 166 for nine.

But number 10, Harry Morris (28 not out) and Tomos Roberts, who scored an unbeaten 13, put on 39 for the last wicket to get Gresford over the line from the final ball of the match.

The experienced opener struck 98, and with George Bourne hitting a half century of his own, Brymbo posted an impressive 249 for six from their 45 overs.

Wayne Smith (3-23) and Ross Roberts (2-14) combined with the new-ball to leave Denbigh on the ropes, and although the home side recovered through David Schrimshaw (68no), Ian Hall (49no) and Peter Lloyd (38), Brymbo restricted them to 199 for seven.

Nine-man Llay Welfare Seconds became the latest side to beat Hawarden Park Seconds, easing to a seven-wicket away win.

Liam Ho struck an unbeaten 50 as Buckley posted 145 for five, a total which proved far too small, despite two wickets apiece from Jack Williams and Nathan Barton, Menai cruising to victory with 13.1 overs in hand.

Pontblyddyn Seconds proved no match for Mochdre Seconds, who claimed a 126-run away win.

Gethin Thomas recorded figures of 3-36, but Mochdre posted 197 for eight, a total Pontblyddyn got nowhere near as they were bowled out for just 71.
