Northop needed just 29.1 overs to blow Flintshire rivals Hawarden Park away and claim a 10-wicket Premier Division victory.

Having won the toss, Hawarden Park were skittled for a paltry 41 inside 19 overs as Andy Poynton (5-14) and Tom Blackwell (5-26) combined to devastating effect.

With little pressure, Northop eased to 44 without loss after the turnaround from just 62 balls, Blackwell finishing unbeaten on 19 and Harry Lewis hitting 17 not out.

Fellow strugglers Chirk were also beaten - despite the best efforts of captain Andrew Swarbrick – as hosts Pwllheli claimed victory.

Swarbrick struck 72 as Chirk posted 218 for eight from their 50 overs, Luke Gardner adding 40 not out.

That total proved too be below-par, however, as Jason Underwood hit an unbeaten 79 to see Pwllheli across the line, Sean Reilly (41) and Michael Hughes (35no) also in the runs.

Swarbrick claimed 3-49 and Nick Flack took 2-48, but their efforts proved to be in vain.

Connah’s Quay were unable to cope with Matthew Jones as the opener’s 144 not out led Llandudno to a 93-run.

Jones struck 21 fours and two sixes in his 162-ball knock, while Danial Evans hit a half century in Llandudno’s 300 for four, Martin Burger with 4-81.

Matt Redinger hit 78 and Darren Jones added 42 after the tea interval, but Quay were bowled out for 207, Jack Rimmington claiming 5-43.

It was a similar story at St Asaph as Duncan Midgley’s century helped secure a 99-run success over Gresford.

Midgley hit 15 fours and two sixes to finish with 114 from 107 balls, whole Will Ryan struck 80 as St Asaph posted 276 for six, Chris Ellwood, Sam Thompson and John Bell bagging two wickets apiece.

Daniel Williams (47) finished as Gresford’s top scorer as they were bowled out for 177 after the turnaround, Gareth Bell (25) and Thompson (22) failing to kick on after starts.

Brymbo climbed up to fourth in the table as they defeated Bangor by 48 runs.

Connor Davies led the scoring with 77, the all-rounder supported by Gareth Pugh (42) and James Claybrook (40) as Brymbo posted 209 despite Gareth Edwards’ 7-47.

Brymbo impressed with the ball as Bangor were bowled out for 161, Gareth Boyes taking 4-20 and Ben Roberts taking 2-34.

Jack Gower struck a 106 as leaders Menai Bridge (224-4) overcame Denbigh (223-7) by six wickets, Harrison Jones’ 104 proving in vain for the home side.

Pontblyddyn made it three Division One wins in a row as they overcame Llanrwst by 77 runs.

Ali Roberts (68) and David Foulkes (43) led the scoring for Pont, who were helped to 237 for eight by James Birch (25), James Griffiths (23no) and Richard Davies (21).

Pont then turned the screw with the ball as Rhys Jones (3-22), Ryan White (3-23) and Birch (2-46) bowled Llanrwst out for 160.

Fellow title chasers Mold were also impressive as they recorded a five-wicket win over Dolgellau.

Richard Crane pocketed 4-19 as Dolgellau were bowled out for 136, a total which Mold surpassed with Richard Deniz (33no) and Tom North (21no) putting on a 46-run partnership after Crane (33) and Duane Williams (29) had laid a platform.

Bersham held their nerve to secure a two-wicket away victory over Abergele, who were bowled out for 101 as Nilanka De Silva (4-34) and Randheer Bandara (3-12) combined impressively.

Nuwan Amarakoon top scored for Bersham with 24, although the Wrexham-based side were helped across the winning line by 28 extras.

Llay Welfare produced a solid all-round performance as they overcame visiting Mochdre by 42 runs.

Contributions from Nathan Humphreys (38), Jack Parry (37) and Dave Phennah (35) helped Llay post 206 for nine, which proved more than enough as the bowlers did their bit.

Tom Crewe (3-44) and Jack Aplin (2-22) were the pick of a Llay attack that included wickets for Humphreys, Phennah and Jack and Tom Parry.
