ALUN ANDREWS has been appointed as the new Head of Physical Performance at Wrexham.

A UEFA B licensed coach, Andrews has a 1st Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports and Exercise Science and is part way through his MSc qualification.

He has held positions at Cardiff City, where he has worked with the first team and under 21 squad, Athletico Clube De Portugal and Sporting Clube Olhanense.

Andrews told the official website: "I am delighted to have secured the position as the new Head of Physical Performance at Wrexham AFC.

"Having worked at some great clubs here in Wales and abroad, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to the club.

"I specialise in delivering pitch and gym based fitness and conditioning sessions and will be looking to keep the team in top condition to go for it for 90 minutes and beyond week in week out."

Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts told the official website: "We are delighted to appoint Alun into the role of Head of Physical Performance.

"This is an important role for the football club and I was looking for someone with the right level of experience and importantly attitude and willingness to help us win.

"I believe we have found that person in Alun and am looking forward to him getting going."
