Wrexham have announced a pre-season friendly with League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers.

Mark Cooper's side will travel to The Racecourse on Saturday, July 28 (3pm) as the Reds conclude their pre-season schedule ahead of the start of the National League season on August 4.

Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts said: "The game against Forest Green Rovers will be a good footballing test for us.

"It's a yardstick if you like. Forest Green are a good side and they are exactly where we want to be. It's going to be a really good test to see where we are just a week before the season starts."

Wrexham begin pre-season at Lex XI on Friday, June 29 before visiting Airbus on Saturday, July 7 ahead of their trip to Portugal, where they face Loletano DC on Wednesday, July 11.

Matches at Bangor City (July 17), Telford United (July 21) and Macclesfield (July 24) follow before the clash with Forest Green.
