KINGSLEY KNIGHTS blew the Division One title race wide open with a 12-run success over previously unbeaten leaders Mold.

Visiting Knights posted 127 for seven from their 20 overs before restricting Mold to just 115 for six to secure a win which leaves them just a point off top spot.

Second placed Academicals were also beaten as they were bowled out for just 76 in reply to Red Lion's earlier 139, Chris Moss hitting 47 for the victorious visitors, who saw T Halliwell (4-27) impress with the ball.

Marchwiel and Wrexham Outlaws and Llay Welfare both boosted their chances of avoiding the drop with respective victories over Hawarden Park and Tarporley.

Dineth Hewathanthree and Iroshan De Silva both struck half centuries for Marchwiel as they posted 159 for five against Hawarden, who saw captain Mike Wootton (3-20) impress.

Hawarden were then restricted to 112 for seven in reply as Marchwiel won by 47 runs.

Llay Welfare (118-3) produced a solid run chase to collect a seven-wicket home success over Tarporley (112-6).

There is no stopping Brymbo Brewers as they made it five successive Division Two victories courtesy of a 14-run win at Chester Lions.

Brymbo posted 114 for five from their 20 overs before producing an impressive performance in the field to restrict the Lions to 100 for seven in reply.

Mynydd Isa secure their first victory of the season as they overcame West Cheshire Xbatters by 36 runs.

Carl Juston and Danny Bell both hit half centuries as Isa posted a sizeable 179 for two, before West Cheshire replied with 143 for seven, Andy Bennion hitting 50.

Cornerhouse (204-2) won a high scoring contest at Golden Eagle (161-4) by 41 runs, while HGWCC (100-3) defeated Saughall (99-5) by seven wickets.

Gwersyllt Park saw their grip on the Division Three top spot loosened by a nine-run home loss to West Kirby Wasps, who posted 149 for four.

Lee Beer hit 52 for Gwersyllt, but it proved in vain as they were restricted to 140 for seven in reply.

Danny Williams and Matthew Thompson were in the runs as Gresford recorded a 104-run success at Halkyn.

The duo both hit half centuries as Gresford posted 210 for one, before halting Halkyn's run chase on 106 for five.

Steve Hilyard's 50 went without reward as West Cheshire College (127-7) lost by eight wickets at Cross Keys (Richard George 3-14), while The Groves (124-6) overcame Manor Athletic (122-8) by four wickets.

Abergele (150-5) beat Outlaws (145-7) by five runs in the only Division Four game, while Oak Tree Outlaws claimed a walkover win against Westminster Park in Division Five.

Elsewhere in the fifth-tier, Bank of America (127-4) beat Wirral (117-5) by 10 runs, Frodsham (104-4) defeated Kinnerton (102-9) by six wickets and Shotton (132-7) won by four runs at Dodleston (128-7).

Buckley maintained their perfect Division Six record with a seven-run win at Defib. The visiting side posted 122 for four, before bowling Defib out for just 115 in reply.

Chester Taverners (136-6) were also winners as they beat MP Plumbing (94) by 42 runs.
