OWEN SMITH'S impressive form has been recognised with a call up to Great Britain's relay team for the Citius Meeting in Switzerland.
The Flintshire raised 400m runner will line up alongside Martyn Rooney, Delano Williams and Ben Snaith in Bern on Saturday, June 16.
Smith, who represented Team GB at the World Indoor Championships in March, caught the eye in Oordegem just under two weeks ago, winning the 400m in a season's best time of 46.24, which was just one 100th of a second behind his personal best.
The 23-year-old's fine form continued last weekend when he ran 45 seconds flat in the second leg of the 4x400m relay at the British League Premier Division for Cardiff AAC.
Smith is hoping to measure his progress on Saturday at the Geneva International Meeting, where he could compete in the 400m against Rooney.
