Mynydd Isa claimed the bragging rights as they beat rivals Buckley by four wickets to claim a first Division Two success of the season.

Isa have endured a difficult start to the campaign, but that didn't show as they bowled hosts Buckley out for just 93 inside 25 overs, Ryan Wynne (4-15) and Ben Wilbraham (3-30) impressing as Joel Sampson top scored with 40.

The Isa reply wasn't entirely convincing, but David Brilley (20 not out) and Paul Kearney (25no) got their side over the line, despite some tight Buckley bowling.

With Gwersyllt Park handed a walkover win against Bodedern, second placed Carmel and District maintained pressure on the table toppers with an eight-wicket home win over Halkyn.

James Beresford top scored with 28 not out as Halkyn posted 142 for seven from a rain reduced 40 overs, Marcello Carrino (25) and Graeme Settle (24) also in the runs.

Alex North bagged 4-33 as Carmel's reply faltered, but the steady hand of Dafydd Bailey (68no) saw his side over the line.

Marchwiel and Wrexham produced a strong all-round performance to defeat hosts Corwen by six wickets.

Sion Edwards (3-25) and Sam Shoemark (3-28) combined to bowl Corwen out for 104, a total which Marchwiel passed inside 27 overs of their reply as Michael Forgrave struck an unbeaten half century.

Michael Parton hit 65 as Ruthin (203) overcame Llangollen (149) by 54 runs.

Gresford Seconds maintained their perfect start to the Second XI Premier Division season with a four-wicket home win over Northop.

Sean Richards, Matt Daulby and Ross Willets picked up two wickets apiece as Northop were bowled out for 110, three run outs failing to help their cause.

Matthew Mullarkey, Chris Hinton and Andrew Oates followed suit with two wickets each for Northop as Gresford were made to work hard for their victory.

Pontblyddyn Seconds were also victorious as they overcame Brymbo Seconds by six wickets.

Harry Williams (3-28), Daz Wilcock (2-21), James Hughes (2-22) and Chris Moss (2-23) combined to restrict Brymbo to 117 for nine, Adam Smith top scoring with 32 and number 10 Wayne Smith hitting 29 not out.

Moss then struck 56 to break the back of the run chase, before Hughes saw Pontblyddyn home with an unbeaten 22.

There was little to celebrate elsewhere as Buckley Seconds (92) lost by nine wickets at Denbigh Seconds (95-1) and Carmel and District Seconds (46) slipped to a 117-run defeat at Mochdre Seconds (163).

Hawarden Park Seconds (98) were thumped by 235 runs at Menai Bridge Seconds (333-7) and Llay Welfare Seconds (129) were beaten by 92 runs against Bangor Seconds (221-6).

George Jones impressed as Mold Seconds secured a 56-run success at Maeshafn Argoed in the Second XI East Division.

Jones top scored with 46 as Mold posted 170 for four, Craig Roberts (40), Luca Davies (31) and Ewan Hill (29) also in the runs.

And Jones wasn't done there as he took 3-26, while Roberts bagged 2-8 and Davies pocketed 2-21 in Maeshafn's 114 for nine.

Connah's Quay Seconds were also victorious as they bowled Chirk Seconds out for 104 before replying with 105 for four to clinch a six-wicket win.
