Morrell's frustration at Wrexham FC defeat

PLAYER-MANAGER Andy Morrell was frustrated Wrexham never capitalised on a slip-up from leaders Newport County as the Reds suffered a defeat of their own.

Having seen Newport lose 4-3 at Alfreton on Friday evening, Wrexham were looking to close the gap on their rivals to just one point with a game in hand but Morrell’s side were beaten 2-1 by Hereford United at The Racecourse the following day.

“We said before the game it was a good opportunity but there is no point having these opportunities if you don’t take them,” said Morrell, whose side slipped to fourth position in the table after Grimsby Town and Forest Green Rovers climbed above them.

“We haven’t this time but we have still got a game in hand. It is not all doom and gloom just yet.

“We are a good side, we just need to get back out on that training ground and keep working hard, I am sure it will come back.

“These middle 15 games are key because they make or break you.

“We need to get back to winning ways. We had a good win in the week but this league this year is crazy.

“You win one and you lose one. I have said all along it is the most consistent team that will win it, we need to get back on that unbeaten run and stay in the pack.”

    i did say that wrexham will not win just a week ago wrexham says it will take all comers on is this a joke no wrexham down ans down you go get rid of the manger now or you be fighting to stay in it i think
