PLAYER-BOSS Andy Morrell has got a selection headache for tomorrow’s visit of Hereford United.

Strikers Rob Ogleby and Adrian Cieslewicz impressed after coming off the substitutes bench at Southport in midweek, the first scoring and the latter setting up a goal, while right-back Danny Alfei is hoping to feature having missed the 4-1 victory through illness.

Midfielder Joe Clarke and frontman Nick Rushton, making his first senior start, came into the side while Johnny Hunt was on the bench for the first time this season having started every other game.

“Rob and Adrian came on and did well. Joe started and he did great,” said Morrell. “Nick had a few chances and there’s Danny Alfei so it good for me because there is competition for places and people want to be in the team.

“It is not nice when you are not in the team but I had to take Johnny out to give him a break because it is hard going fult-tilt every week and midweek at times.

“But they are all fully for the cause here and fully in it for the team. You could see the delight on the substitutes who did not get on and the lads not involved that they are pleased to win. The whole group is pushing in the right direction which is good.”

Morrell is hoping that Cieselewicz can be just as effective from the start if the pacy Pole is restored to the side.

“It is the consistency with Adrian. He is an explosive player and great on the eyes at time,” said Morrell.

“I have told him he has got everything to take us as a team higher, he can be that difference in some games, but he is still learning.”

Wrexham have back to back home games, with Gateshead the visitors to The Racecourse next weekend, but Morrell is just focused on trying to take three points from tomorrow’s clash with mid-table Hereford who are unbeaten in six matches.

“Hereford are going to frustrate like every other team that comes here.”
