PLAYER-MANAGER Andy Morrell was delighted with his side’s battling qualities as Wrexham registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough last night.
Morrell’s 10th goal of the season in first half stoppage time turned out to be the winner and although Wrexham had to dig in after the break, resolute defending kept the hosts at bay.
“It was tough,” said Morrell. “A couple of new lads have come in and not played that often, you can tell, but you can't fault any of the players.
“Maybe we went a bit deep in the second half but we just did not have a great deal of energy.
“I am just pleased to hang on, the clean sheet is paramount.
“Kidderminster are a good outfit and are a really tough team to play against. Not many teams come here and beat them."
Second placed Wrexham remain two points behind leaders Fleetwood Town but with a game in hand and Morrell added: “I have been saying it all along since I took charge that the lads have been brilliant. They stick together.”
