A WOMAN pulled a passenger out of a taxi and repeatedly punched him after an argument.

Stacey Louise Deplacido, 29, had been involved in an argument at a taxi office in Brook Street, Wrexham early on May 5.

Justin Espie, prosecuting at Wrexham Magistrates Court, said that at around 4am CCTV footage showed a male striking another, which led to another scuffle in which Deplacido became involved.

Deplacido, of Gwenfro in Wrexham, had a verbal argument with a male before punching him in the face.

There was some pushing and shoving before the male left in a taxi, which stopped at traffic lights a short distance away.

Deplacido then pulled him out of the taxi and punched him on a number of occasions, Mr Espie said.

District Judge Gwyn Jones heard that no complaint was made and there were no visible injuries.

Deplacido pleaded guilty to using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence.

Ian Barnes, defending, told how the CCTV footage did not show an earlier incident in the taxi office - in which Deplacido was not involved - where a group were being abusive towards her friend and cousin, and there was some pushing and shoving.

She had tried to calm things down, but Deplacido "lost her rag" outside the office when abuse was shouted at her.

Mr Barnes added that Deplacido, who had no previous convictions, had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

The district judge fined Deplacido £120 and ordered her to pay £85 in prosecution costs as well as a £30 surcharge.

He told her: "This was an incident which you may not have started, but you have involved yourself in it."
