A FLINTSHIRE primary school pupil is holding a donation rally next month for homeless people across north east Wales and Chester.

Sian Kitchen, 10, from Carmel is seeking clothes, duvets and sleeping bags from people to be given to the ShareShop, a charity store aimed at specifically helping the homeless, in Chester.

Sian, who attends Ysgol Bro Carmel, will travel in the ShareShop van to schools, businesses, community groups and homes across Flintshire that have requested donations over the last couple of months on June 8th for a mass collection. Schools have also been encouraged to hold fundraising non-school uniform or wear uniform back to front days, with proceeds also being collected on 8th June.

Sian has been taking donations for the ShareShop for the last few months, travelling as far afield as Preston to collect offerings, and has decided to take her campaigning a step further with her mass donation rally.

Over the last couple of months she has been spreading the message to as many schools, businesses and community groups as possible, and so far have six scheduled stop off points, but it is hoped that they will have many more come June 8th.

Lyonsden gym in Bagillt have offered to be a donation drop off centre for people that would like to individually donate.

Ann-Marie Chamberlain, ShareShop Manager, said: ''We are so very grateful to Sian for her continued support and hard work for our charity.

''We depend upon the kindness of people like Sian to help us provide much needed aid to our local homeless friends and refugees fleeing for their lives. To see someone so young with so much enthusiasm and kindness is extremely heartwarming.''

Sian's mother Philippa is helping her daughter organise the donation rally.

She said: ''Sian is very headstrong, driven and passionate about this cause, I'm so proud of her. She's only 10 but has shown such incredible levels of compassion and maturity and I'm just trying to support in her in any way I can.''
