WORLD War Two commando veterans visited a primary school to share their experiences.

Brian Woolnough, 95, formerly of 2 Commandos, Harvey O'Hara, 95, of 4 Commandos and Ted Owen, 94, of 41 Royal Marines Commandos visited Abermorddu Primary School to speak to year 6 pupils.

The visit ties in with year 6's work on the Second World War, which will see them visit Normandy in June, where two of the veterans served during the D-Day landings.

Abermorddu Primary School has existing links with the Commando Veteran's Association, and Fred Davies, 75, Secretary Commando Veterans Association helped arrange the visit and was there on the day.

The veterans spoke to the pupils about their experiences during the War, many of which involved daring raids with all three being a part of special operations commando units.

Ian Roberts, headteacher, said: ''For the pupils to have this opportunity is just excellent.

"It was an honour and a privilege to welcome the veterans to our school.

''The pupils loved every minute of it and were hanging on their every word.''
