A MAN was found drug driving in the Lidl supermarket car park in Holywell.
Simon Alexander Roberts, 48, was banned from driving for a year.
Flintshire Magistrates Court was told how police received information about a man driving under the influence of drugs.
Officers went to the supermarket car park at about 6pm on March 16 and spoke to Roberts who had an expired driving licence and no insurance.
A saliva test was positive and a later blood test in the police station showed he had 800 milligrams of BZE, a metabolite of cocaine compared to the legal limit of 50.
He also gave a 43 milligrams reading of cocaine compared to the legal limit of 10.
Roberts, of Bryn Dyffryn, Holway, Holywell, was banned from driving for a year and was fined £140 with £85 costs and a £30 surcharge. He was also fined £140 for not having insurance.
Fiona Larkin, defending, told the Mold court that at the time her client was “in a bad place”.
He had issues but had since been assisted by the drugs service at Rowley’s Drive in Shotton and was addressing the issues he had.
Roberts accepted he had taken cocaine the day before and had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
