AN afternoon of zorb football was a big success, say organisers.

The event, hosted by North Wales Police, took place at the community centre in Mynydd Isa yesterday.

PCSO Samantha Salisbury told the Leader: “It has been really good - we had about 15 kids in and they have had a really good time.

“Some of them came back for another go and there was a match between young people and PCSOs as well.

“The idea was to engage with the kids a bit more and do something different for them.”

PC Natalie Williams said: “I’d say it has definitely been a success - it is to show the kids that we’re also here to get to know them.

“They were all different ages from about nine up to about 14.”

North Wales Police worked in partnership with Police and Community Trust (PACT) funding, Canolfan Isa and Aura Leisure and Libraries to provide the activities.

PC Williams added: “We will be putting on more events and we would love for the kids to come along and join in.

“These will be posted on the NWP South Flintshire Facebook page.”
