PUPILS at a school near Wrexham got all dressed up to celebrate World Book Day.

Youngsters at St Mary’s School in Brymbo, eventually took part in the event, after school bosses were forced to postpone it until yesterday due to the heavy snow and freezing conditions last week.

A number of schools in and around Wrexham were forced to close at the end of last week due to adverse weather conditions caused by the ‘Beast from the East’.

As part of the special event yesterday pupils were asked to decorate potatoes as their favourite book characters.

Youngsters also dressed up as their favourite characters from some of the world’s best loved books.
