A HOMELESS woman who urinated in public outside a town centre cafe was warned about her future behaviour.

Wrexham Magistrates Court heard Venesse Evans, 63, was outside Caffe Nero during the day on March 8 when she was seen urinating in the street.

Melissa Griffiths, defending, said Ms Evans had suffered "a spectacular fall from grace" and described her current situation as "a very sad state of affairs."

Evans had moved back to Wrexham after living in London and moved in with her mother but had become homeless after her mother died.

She had tried staying in various homeless accommodation but was scared by the drug taking and felt safer on the streets.

Ms Griffiths pointed out there that there were very few public toilets in Wrexham town centre and her client's intake of medication meant she often needed to go to the toilet in a hurry.

Chair of the bench, Kimberly Caruana described the incident as "very unpleasant" and added that children had been present.

She said: "We understand you have problems but tis is not something we can tolerate."

Evans was handed a six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
