A WIRRAL man is to be jailed after he admitted blackmailing a businessman from Holywell.
Peter John McKay, 61, admitted making an unwarranted demand for £2,000 with menaces between October and December of last year.
He denied a charge of harassment, placing the victim in fear of violence, and that was allowed to remain on the file.
In his basis of plea McKay, of Holt Road in Tranmere, Birkenhead, said he acted in the mistaken belief that he was entitled to the money in salary payments but he accepted that the menaces were improper.
Judge Huw Rees, sitting at Mold Crown Court, rebailed him pending sentence next month.
He warned McKay that it was a serious offence and he should prepare himself for a significant sentence of imprisonment.
