A town council has raised concern over plans to extend a Flintshire restaurant and hotel.
An application to extend the dining area and beer garden of the Stamford Gate Hotel, Halkyn Road, Holywell, was approved by Holywell Town Council ahead of it's discussion by Flintshire Council's planning committee next month.
While no objections were recorded by town councillors, fears were raised over road capacity on the busy A5026, as the new adjustments will incur more customers and therefore more cars and traffic.
Cllr Ted Palmer said: "The whole area needs looking at - the junction at the Calcot Arms is a death trap, and with the hospital and the extra care facility being on the same road, there will be extra traffic.
"We approve of the application but we are concerned about the highway issues."
Cllr Linda Carter added that the concern is about "the infrastructure of the road, not the development."
The application remains in a consultation period, in which the planning authority seeks comments from various organisations and statutory bodies and the public, until Tuesday, May 1.
