A MAN in his thirties has been arrested in connection with a robbery at Barclays Bank in Queensferry at about 10.20am today.

A North Wales Police spokesman said the man remains in police custody.

“Police enquiries are ongoing and we continue to appeal for any witnesses to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number W049276,” said the spokesman.

Earlier in the day Det Insp Eleri Thomas, of North Wales Police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the offenders enter or leave the bank and especially to anyone who may have filmed the incident on their phone or caught images on their dashcam to call police on 101 quoting ref W049276.”

Ramona Enfield, Barclays community banking director for North Wales, said: “I can confirm an incident took place at the Queensferry branch at approximately 10.30am.

“We are working closely with the police to apprehend the individuals involved.

“I can confirm that no staff or customers were injured during the incident.”

Jason Thorne, area risk consultant for G4S Cash Solutions (UK) Ltd, said: “A member of our cash crew was the victim of a brazen attack during a routine service at a Barclays Bank branch in Queensferry.

“Fortunately our colleague has not been injured.

“We are working closely with the police and I would urge anyone who may have seen this attack to get in touch with the police or dial 101 so that those behind it can be brought to justice.”
