A CHIEF executive of a leading housing group has retired after 22 years of working to provide quality affordable homes across the region.

Graham Worthington recently departed Pennaf Housing Group, which includes Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, where he had helped to manage more than 5,700 homes across North and Mid Wales.

Mr Worthington said: ‘’I first started working in the sector in 1974 and for the last 23 years have worked for the Pennaf Group.

“I have always been passionate about the need to provide good quality affordable housing and it has been a privilege to work with dedicated staff and Board Members over the years who have helped to achieve this.

“I’m confident the Pennaf Group is in safe hands going forward and will continue to thrive, working in partnership with local authorities to meet the needs of communities across the region.

“It is excellent that Clare Budden, chief officer for community enterprise at Flintshire Council, will take up her post as the new Pennaf chief executive on April 16 as she will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role.”

A retirement presentation party was attended by staff from across the group when Mr Worthington thanked staff for their commitment as well as their kind wishes on his retirement.

Trevor Henderson, deputy chief executive of Pennaf, added: “On behalf of the management team and staff, we’d like to thank Graham for all he has done to help the group thrive over the years and we wish him all the very best for a long and happy retirement.”
