SCHOOLS are closed today (Monday, November 29) as freezing conditions continue to grip the region.

Saltney Wood Memorial Primary School on Boundary Lane was shut after a water pipe burst inside school.

Headteacher Ceri Williams said: “Every effort will be made to open the school on Tuesday.”

The Maelor School in Penley is also closed. A spokeswoman for Wrexham Council said there had been a problem with the heating system.
