Neither Wrexham nor Tamworth managed to achieve a goal within 90 minutes of Tuesday night’s game.
The Racecourse was filled with enthusiastic fans, coffee in hand, waiting for the match to commence, and despite the lack of goals the match was packed with free kicks, yellow card, the best action saw shots by Luke Holden and Michael Blackwood go close.
Fleming’s over enthusiastic attempt to maintain the ball resulted in a free kick to Tamworth.
Andy Fleming had a great game, and went on to achieve ‘man of the match’ even with a yellow cardd to his name.
Wrexham had many more chances compared to Tamworth in the first half, but struggled to score a goal.
During one minute of extra time in the first half, Luke Holden kisses the cross bar with a straight shot.
Wrexham’s Sam Russell saved a great shot by Michael Blackwood in attempt to keep Wrexham in 12th place.
Legendary Joey Jones in interview before the match said; ‘things aren’t happening at the moment for Wrexham’ and ‘hopes things will turn around.’
Marc Williams also added that he is waiting to recover from a fractured metatarsal and looks forward to his next game.
Fleming managed ‘man of the match’ with a yellow card!!
This leaves Wrexham one point behind Tamworth due to a disappointing 0-0 draw.
