'Park properly or lose your bus service', residents told

PEOPLE in a Wrexham village are being asked to park considerately to ensure a village bus service continues.

The service in Llandegla is being threatened by poor parking and had been in danger of being withdrawn by GHA coaches.

As a result of a community meeting held last week between the local county councillor, GHA and North Wales Police, the company agreed to re-instate the service.

PC Osian Davies said: “In order for the service to continue we need to make a request to people that park their cars in order to go walking or to use the local shop and residents, to park considerately allowing room for the bus service to continue to serve the community members who rely on it.

“The continuation of the service is entirely dependent on people parking considerately.”

Nice one GHA...... punish the people who use your service because car owners can't be bothered to park properly..... great customer relations initiative !!

why dont they have the bus stop above the post office? the bus could turn around in a cul de sac and not have to go near where the cars are parked

so are these motorists parking illegally? if so - book em! if not they aren't going to care, because they drive and DONT get the bus. I think GHA are pathetic using such an excuse because of a few selfish car drivers, surely they could stop somewhere else, if people are going walking they aren't going to know about the bus situation are they?!?!

mfm103.4 - "...so are these motorists parking illegally? if so - book em!" Spot on. Although, I quite like the idea of "community responsibility" - if you're neighbour is parking their car so badly that it's risking you losing your bus service, bang on the door and tell her.
