WELSH schoolboys star Ross Frame completed a superb weekend by inspiring Guilsfield’s victory over lowly Caernarfon Town.
Frame nominated himself to start despite being in international action less than 24 hours earlier, when he was the match winner in Wales under 18s’ victory over their Australian visitors in Port Talbot.
Manager Mike Barton said: “Ross is a tremendous player and everyone is delighted at his success with Wales.”
The die was cast inside the opening five minutes when Jon Jones’ cross was teed-up by Mark Davies for Rob Cookson to fire home.
However Caernarfon Town replied on 30 minutes when the defence was left flat footed, with a delighted Mike Latham allowed to capitalise.
Guilsfield regained their lead before the break with Frame’s pace and trickery allowing him to cross for Graeme McGill to pounce.
The second-half was a much tighter affair with Guilsfield’s victory in doubt until the last minute, when Frame’s goalbound shot was handled on the line by Ben Collins who in turn was dismissed.
Frame ended his weekend as he began by coolly stepping up to convert from the penalty spot, to the delight of the home bench.
