Man cut free after Chirk crash

A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being cut free from the wreckage of his car after a crash in the centre of Chirk yesterday morning.

The emergency services were called to Holyhead Road in the town at 9.30am following reports of a collision between a 4x4 vehicle and car.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We released a casualty from one of the vehicles before making it safe.”

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “It was a collision involving two vehicles.

“One man was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

“It is believed his injury was serious although not life-threatening.”
