A MOVE by Wrexham Council to change its refuse collection system has been praised by a community council.
The authority is to replace small grey food waste bins with larger ones, which will be collected once a week.
The waste will be collected by a specialised lorry, which converts it to compost.
A one-off Assembly grant was used to buy the vehicle.
Cllr Charles Rigby told Gwersyllt Community Council there had been many complaints about the small grey bins, which were collected once a fortnight.
Cllr June White said the small grey bins were not popular, adding that a lot of people did not like them because they attracted vermin, particularly in the summer months.
