Hospitalized Flintshire pensioner may have been victim of street attack

A PENSIONER from Flintshire has been in hospital for more than a month after what police suspect was a street attack.

The 80-year-old man was found lying on the pavement in Coleshill Street, Holywell, at about 12.30pm on Sunday, October 25.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “Initially it was thought he had fallen, but hospital treatment revealed that his head injuries were more consistent with being assaulted.”

Officers are now asking people to cast their minds back to the time of the assault, when two men were seen with the victim, who is still in hospital.

One is described as being white, in his early 30s, 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing white overalls.

The second man was white, in his late 30s and of slim build, with shoulder length, sandy coloured hair.

PC Jason Gunn said: “We are keen to locate these two men and establish what their involvement was with the victim.

“We are also keen to speak to a woman, described as black and dressed smartly, who may have possibly just attended a local church, to come forward as she may have seen the incident taking place.”

Anyone with information should contact North Wales Police on 0845 607 1002.
