Wrexham chippy owner facing legal action after E.coli outbreak

LEGAL action is to be taken against the owner of Llay Fish Bar, council officials have confirmed.

The takeaway on Council Street was closed down by Wrexham Council at the start of August after four people fell ill with E.Coli.

The chip shop, owned by Ramazan Aslan, was officially linked to the outbreak of the E.Coli which left Karen Morrisroe fighting for her life and three others seriously ill.

A statement from Toni Slater, Public Protection Service manager at Wrexham Council, said: “A file is currently being prepared with a view to the institution of legal proceedings following the outbreak and the inspection of the premises.

“The council cannot discuss any matters about this case which may prejudice any legal proceedings.”

Mr Aslan was allowed to reopen the outlet again on September 8 but left after about a week of business.

The premises has since been taken over by new management and is due to open as another takeaway soon.
